Fern & Vessel makes botanical wall art for plant parents — dark-mounted specimen prints, and a coming line of sculpted planters designed to sit beneath them.

The idea is old. In the nineteenth century, publishers like Curtis’s Botanical Magazine and Köhler’s Medizinal-Pflanzen catalogued the plant world one plate at a time: a single specimen, drawn with obsessive care, numbered inside its series. We collect the best of those plates — the monsteras, snake plants, ferns, and orchids people actually live with now — and set each one on our Nightshade green ground, the way a collector would mat a specimen for a dark study wall.

Alongside the historical plates we draw our own: the Rootbound series is original continuous-line work from our studio, bone ink on Nightshade, tracing what happens below the pot.

The details that matter

Every print is produced on demand in the United States on 175 gsm museum-quality matte stock, in three sizes (12×18″, 16×24″, 24×36″), and ships US-wide — typically within 5–10 business days of your order. Prints arrive unframed. Damaged prints are replaced free within 30 days; details on the shipping page.

The Vessel Line — geometric planters, propagation stations, and plant stands, 3D-printed in small batches in the same palette — is in production now. The launch list hears first.
